More Pics. of the Potential New Car

Here is a picture of the car from straight on. It looks like a race car, eh? It is just like Rodney Fulbright's car from FLA except his is a '97.

Here is a side shot of the car. I like the looks of it... hopefully it works out, I'll find out soon!
Moving on to the '99 Pontiac Grand Prix if Everything Works Out

Here is yet another '99 Pontiac at Cal's! My parents found this 1 day after the Bonneville got crushed. Hopefully this car will work out and I can get it at Thanksgiving, when my rental car runs out (November 21). I will be awhile without a car that's my own, but this car does have 52,000 miles as opposed to 98,678 that the Bonneville had.

Here is a nice side view that my parents took. It looks very nice and by what I've heard from the test drive my parents took it for it runs very well with plenty of get-up. Well, this locked up again so I'll try to post the rest in a second.
The End of One Era, the Beginning of a New One

Here is one of the multiple pictures I took of my former '99 Pontiac Bonneville. It was crushed by a giant oak tree on Saturday at the Guys dorm parking lot at Mt. Vernon Academy.

Here is a clos up picture. The entire back window is completely gone, as is the sun roof. The roof of the car is severly bent and the front winshield is all cracked although still intact. The students tell me the alarm didn't go off when the tree initially fell on the car, only once Mr. Daniels and Dean Wright came to look at the car. Some students said it sounded like a gun.

Here is the front of the car. You can see the window is smashed up pretty bad. Behind the car is the rubble of the tree.

You can clearly see here the right side of the car where the car took the biggest hit from the tree. The frame of the car is detached and bent away from the door! This picture was taken looking down on the closed door. Tomorrow is the awaited meeting with the inspector from State Farm which will start the rest of the process. I already have a rental lined up for 19 days starting Thursday, when I will return the school's Chevy Astro. That will get me through to Thanksgiving Break and hopefully to the new potential Pontiac Grand Prix that my parents have found at Cal's.

Post #3 from October 21, Cavaliers Game

Here is a photo of some amazing gymnast who were doing all kinds of flips and headstands and spinning on their heads... It was neat to see. They did a good job of keeping us entertained during time-outs. You can see there were a lot of fans courtside. I wonder how much the refs. got paid for this game?

Here is a picture of all the National Hockey League teams hanging from the rafters. The Toronto Maple Leafs are the 3rd banner from the right of the speaker in the left of the picture. You could see where the ice is usually at during Blue Jackets games. The ice is a lot longer than an NBA court. One of the students, who is about to start working for me tomorrow in the gym, said that hockey is the most exciting sport to watch, mainly because of the fights!

Here is one of my best close up pictures of the game. You can see Damon Jones, formerly on the Miami Heat. He is a great 3-point shooter and was a big part of Miami's team a couple years ago. It was fun seeing the Hawks again after seeing them so many times in Atlanta. Now I have seen the Hawks beat the Spurs and Cavaliers. The next game I will be at will be with Carrie in November!! I can't wait... finally Carrie will get to see Mt. Vernon. It will be a great time, the countdown is on.
Post #2 from the Ohio Boys Teen Retreat
Here is a picture of Nationwide Arena in Columbus, home of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets. Hopefully I'll be back later this winter to see them. There was a USHL Hockey game going on we got to see a little bit of through the windows before we went in to see the Cavs. game. I haven't skated on ice for awhile, I guess I'll probably get a chance again this Christmas at Camp Au Sable!

Here is a picture of Lebron James about to check back into the game. There is no question why over 10,000 fans came to see this pre-season game, to see LeBron live. He had a solid game with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. He really turned it on in the 2nd half as he missed a lot of shots in the 1st half on his way to a 7 for 17 shooting night, including 1 for 2 from 3-point range.

Here is a picture of some of the guys that came and the guys dean. The guys seemed to have fun overall and we really didn't have that bad of seats for $10. It was a very slow start as the Hawks led 37-28 at halftime, but at the end of 4 quarters, it was tied at 79 all thanks to a Drew Gooden shot with 22 seconds left. LeBron missed the potential game winner that sent it to overtime, where Joe Johnson hit the game-winner for the Hawks with 1.7 seconds left for a 90-88 win.

Here is a picture from Ephesus church Sabbath afternoon after Church in the morning and potluck. We had a great lunch and then a lot of the students came in here in the sanctuary and played drums, the piano, electric guitar and sing.

Here is a picture of me infront of the Ephesus church in Columbus, OH. It was a beautiful sunny Sabbath afternoon and I couldn't stay inside all day, so I went for a hike through the neighborhood where our boys dean lives.

Here is a picture of 2 Canadian Geese I saw while walking. They were squaking loudly at me. Why do they hate me so much? Ever since I was little and at the Toronto Zoo! I guess they aren't my favorite either, so it evens out. I had a good time taking pictures of them as they ran away.

Here is a picture of a nice house in a neighborhood I was hiking in. I saw a lot of huge houses and I actually only got chased by 1 dog the whole time, which was pretty good. After the hike we had pizza at church and then headed to Nationwide Arena to see LeBron and the Cavs. take on the Atlanta Hawks in pre-season NBA action. I will make another post with more pics.

Pictures from the Wedding Weekend

Here is an awesome picture of the sunrise one morning before I headed to teach Sophomore P.E. class at 7:30 a.m. For the last 1 or 2 weeks it is nearly pitch black when I am driving to school to teach.

Here is a picture of our Girls Varsity volleyball team warming up before our match against Fairfield Christian Academy. I was the head coach for both the JV Girls and Varsity that night as both coaches were busy. It was fun, although we didn't get back until after 10 p.m. which made it a long night.

Here is a picture of my uncle Milt through the glass at Olive Garden! It makes him look slightly different than he normally would! I will put a better picture of him on this post.

What a great name for a restaurant... North Beach. This made me want to go surfing again. It was fun at New Smyrna beach while student teaching at F.L.A. and then behind the boats at Nosoca a ton this summer is where I really got hooked. The clouds were really pretty that day.

Here is a picture of part of the group at Jeff's wedding at Giordano's Pizza on Saturday night after the wedding rehearsal, and also after the Tigers took out the Yankess 3 games to 1. I have only witnessed one celebration better than that one- the Blue Jays in '93. While we were there visiting we also were able to watch the Mets and Dodgers (if I stood up and walked over near the pizza bar).

Post #4 of the Camping Weekend

Here is a picture of Carrie sitting on the edge of one of the cabins down the hill. It was quite a hike down to the cabins at least if you have to do it all the time. We didn't get to see inside of one of them, but it was neat to see them. My parents said the cabins that used to be there must have been buldozed down because they couldn't find them and these looked really different.
I thought this picture was funny of Carrie as we were waiting for Jaclyn and Ryan to get to the State Park. I think she was making this face after hearing about the detour Jaclyn and Ryan took. I guess that enjoyed the scenic route!

Here is a nice scenic picture of the rocks on our hike on Saturday afternoon. It was absolutely awesome weather the entire weekend. It went by way too fast.

I thought this picture was funny of Ryan digging in the sand next to the campsite. We had fun playing on the merri-go-round and also swinging on the swings.

Here is a nice self-portrait of us by the river. The sun was nearly down so there is no sun shining.

Here is a picture from below of the 2 photographers. Ryan was off hiking underneath the water falls at this time. He should have been excited to see his N.Y. Giants take down the Falcons Sunday, a game that he talked about on-and-off all weekend. But then again, with the Giants playing a team from Atlanta, how could they expect to lose?!

Here is a picture of dad and Ryan trying to warm up next to the nice fire. Can you see all the great food in the backgound? We certainly had enough to eat with all the great cooking during the weekend. You can see the hug log burning that my dad chopped for about 20 minutes one morning!

Here is a picture of mom warming up by the fire. Do you notice a trend here? Everyone was trying to warm up. In the background is the tent I stayed. It had a nice air vent that made sure it didn't get too hot at night! There was plenty of fresh air, that's for sure. Well, I'll stop there for now. Happy Sabbath everyone.

Here is a picture of Carrie on Friday afternoon before anyone else got to the campsite. It was a beautiful day and Carrie had on her Red Sox shirt. Too bad our 2 favorite teams are eliminated from the play-offs. Now we are both going to route for the Tigers in the World Series.

Here is a picture of Ryan about to get soaked by the water falls!! Actually, he made it out relatively dry. Ryan also climbed up behind the falls.

Here is a picture of Carrie next to the fire trying to get warm. It was fairly cold during the weekend. But the fire was stoked pretty good by Ryan Knight. Carrie and Jaclyn and Ryan chopped down dead trees and logs and my dad chopped the axe away at an old fallen tree. We had wood to last us through the cold and to roast the marhmallows.

Here is a great picture of my parents in front of the Cumberland Falls. It was really pretty view from here and looking behind and to the right of me you could easily see the nice river below and all the amazing scenery. The falls were 68 feet high and 125 feet wide. Here is some trivia that may help you to win a bundle of money some day on a reality show.
Jeff's Wedding Pictures

Here I am infront of the house I decided I should buy for my first house. You actually can't see all of it because the tree is in the way. It was a beautiful weekend the entire time we were there and I had a blast seeing all the relatives and getting to share in the Big Event! There were a ton of relatives there and it really felt like a big Family Reunion. Some activities we enjoyed during the weekend included visiting, eating at the Olive Garden and a Pizza Restaurant (I forgot the name, a famous Chicago pizza place), playing basketball (of course, it was a Fish Family gathering), watching baseball (go Tigers) more basketball, great food at the breakfast buffet....

Here is a picture of Jeff and Sara during the wedding. I shouldn't have picked one that was a little blury to post, but none the less you can see Jeff smiling pretty big. Do you think he was excited?! It was a great ceremony and seemed to fly by. Right after it ended I had to high-tail it back to Mt. Vernon to get up early Monday morning and teach, so I missed the car chase and pictures and reception and dance, etc. I heard it was a lot of fun, and at least I could be there for the rest of the weekend.

Here is a picture of the bride and groom and the me right before I left. Jeff and Sara greeted everyone after the ceremony ended as they dismissed every row. They were on the silver screen in the lobby of the church as there was a photographer videotaping them throughout. Afterword we all got to blow bubbles on them as they made a fake getaway, and then immediately came back into the church to start a marathon photo shoot! I can't believe it already stopped posting so quick. I'll have to make another post.

Post # 2 on the Great Camping Weekend

Here is a picture of Jaclyn and Ryan and Carrie making a funny face! It looks like they are having fun. It was a beautiful weekend and I have not seen the sun shine once here in OH this week after 2 sunny days of camping. I could stand another cold night for some more sun!

Here is a picture of Carrie on Friday afternoon down by the river. It was a nice long hike back up to the campground, especially since we missed our cut-off and hiked up 259 stairs, about 100 more than we were supposed to! On Saturday and Sunday we hiked plenty more. This week I haven't done any more hiking at all, but it sure was fun this weekend.

Here is my mom and Carrie and Jaclyn and Ryan outside of the lodge on Saturday afternoon before we started our nice long hike. There were plenty of stairs and breath-taking views of the waterfalls, we got to see 2 falls on the 1 hike. We sure did enjoy the campfires that Ryan K. made up a lot during the cold evenings!
Here is a picture from Sunday when we went on our 3rd hike in 3 days (at least for 2 of us). It was another pretty day and we hiked along the river this time, it wasn't as up and down. We took plenty of opportunities for pictures. I wish I could turn back time and re-live this weekend again. It was great fun and I could sure use another break from one of my Sophomore P.E. classes already. Well, the picture I tried to post of the camp site didn't work, so you'll have to come visit me to see more, I've got 152 more I couldn't post!

R & R Time at Cumberland Falls State Park

Here is a picture on Sabbath afternoon before we took our hike to see the waterfalls. This picture was taken right outside the lodge we went to see. There was also a little racoon right behind us in this picture. The weather was very sunny the whole time and perfect during the day, with highs in the upper 50s or low 60s. A guy told us about an average hike that we decided to take that turned out to be a moutaingoat trail! But it was great fun and very tremendous scenery.

Here is a great picture of mom and dad in front of the falls. It was a great view and we stopped here taking pictures for quite awhile. With so many photographers in our camping outing we took a lot of opportunities for photo shoots! Mom whipped up some great pancakes this morning as we got a nice hot breakfast to warm us up!

Here is a picture of Carrie laying on a rock partway through the Saturday afternoon hike where she took some pictures of the beautiful scenery. There was another waterfall behind Carrie. There were actually 2 on this one hike. The weekend was a lot of fun and went by way too fast. We could not have asked for any more perfect weather and there were lots of campfires thanks to Ryan K. rising up early 2 straight mornings in a row to build a fire right from scratch. Carrie and Jaclyn also helped out by hiking down the cliff outside their tent and cutting down dead trees and hauling up wood. I was still sleeping, or at least trying too!! This weekend did not involve any catch, at least with a softball. I threw a football with Ryan for awhile. His NY Giants whipped the Atlanta Falcons today. But then again, they are from Atlanta, what did you expect to happen? Just look at the Braves. Wow, this blog has never stopped me from posting any more than 3 pictures. I will post more later.

My Best Weekend in a Long Time!!

I went to Carrie's this last weekend and had a great time. It was so nice to get to see Carrie during a regular weekend at school. I drove down Friday afternoon and back up to OH yesterday afternoon. This is a picture of us after church infront of Carrie's place before lunch on Sabbath. It was nice and cool on Sabbath and it warmed up and was pretty and all sunny on Sunday. We played catch both days!

Here is a picture of Carrie on Sabbath flying a helicopter! It was a blast, even though Carrie was way better at flying it than me. We came close to getting it stuck in a tree a few times! It was great fun just like the rest of the weekend. It all flew by way too fast.

Here is a picture of Carrie next to a pond in the back of the Highland property. We took a walk on Sabbath afternoon and I got another tour of the back of campus. It is pretty and it was nice cool weather. Saturday night we went shopping at Ross and Target and I got a Sandwhich Toaster. Then we went to see Invinceable at a theater. It was the 1st movie I've been to see in the theater since I went with Carrie 3 months ago to the day on June 30! It was a great weekend. I wish it was not over already. But we will be going camping during Oct. Homeleave.

Here is a picture of Carrie at her desk in her apartment. It is so light in this room. I think it is a nice set-up. We had fun looking at pictures on the computer. Then on Sunday we watched the Rookie and played catch and then went to Subway to eat lunch before I headed out. It was a great time. It will be fun when Carrie comes up here to visit hopefully sometime in November.
