October 16-19 in Plymouth, MI

Dad and Grandpa.
Good garlic bread always hits the spot for Sabbath lunch... we will be having that today later with Lasagna.
This van was the driving force in the trip for the long weekend. My parents had their Fall Break on Thursday, October 16 & Friday, October 17. They flew up on Wednesday evening from Nashville. Carrie left for her New England Tour @ 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, the 17th, and left me for 10 days... after teaching Thursday, I flew out of Nashville Thursday late afternoon and arrived in Detroit around 10 p.m. Eastern. My parents picked me up in their new van they bought from Grandpa Phil. We came back to TN Sunday and they dropped me off and saw MES on the way!
Jake playing with the animals in their pin... the same toys Amy and I used to play with!
Grandma loves Caro Syrup... no, actually, she posed with it because of the pumpkin pie on the front of the bottle. She loves pumpkin pie and actually tried to steal my mom's piece a couple of year's ago at Thanksgiving!!
Beautiful fall colors on Nantucket Rd.
The new van in the driveway with the basketball hoop in the neighbor's driveway where I made 92 out of 100 free throws once in the freezing rain over the holidays. I know, that isn't very good, I can do better inside.
Making Sabbath lunch.
The exit to Plymouth from M-14 has been under serious construction for over 2 years now. That was the spot to get off and turn right to come to the Heilman residence. They are building a tunnel under the railroad tracks... that will be nice when it is done!
Jake had a good time exploring.
Jake and Heather playing with legos in the living room at Grandpa and Grandma's.
Some pie anyone?
Back to their rightful places!
Pretty blue sky.
Grandpa Phil and Heather.
Jake was too warm for his jacket!
The big blue building we used to drive by just before turning left into Nantucket Rd.
Good times.
Walking the tracks.
Jessica's balancing act.
Heather and Grandpa with Anne in the background.
Now everyone is getting into the act.
It's a wonder no one rolled an ankle.
Anne and Jessica looking at the train passing by... we originally thought it was on the tracks headed for us when we saw it coming around the corner about 800 feet away...
She's ready for the circus!
Mom holding my glove that I played catch with Jake with.
Finding treasures!

My dad has quite the stories about train tracks from when he was a kid. It was a fun trip and beautiful weather. I played golf on Friday with Grandpa, Uncle Jim and my dad. It was great and a good time with temperatures in the 40s during the day and the upper 30s when we started. Perfect golfing weather. If I can find those pictures I'll post them too. My granpa pointed out a pear tree on the course with tons of pears on the ground. So we had a nice lunch and took home a few extra (25 give or take 10 or 15) for later. Good memories.
