Juneau was fun although rainy off and on. After Friday it hardly rained the rest of the honeymoon after a rainy first 2 or 3 days.
Carrie by the sign in the Tongass National Forest.
We walked on a sandy trail near the waterfall by the glacier, over a 2 mile hike round trip.
With the rain we had some great lighting for pictures at different parts of the hike.
A view from the sandy beach.
It was very cold and windy and I needed far more warm clothes than what I brought on the honeymoon... this winter snowboarding Trans9 jacket was not enough even with my hat and gloves, so I bought an Alaska sweatshirt at the Alaska T-Shirt Company!

On Friday we got to see the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau where we docked around 2 p.m.
This was one of our favorite places we visited 5 years ago and it was a highlite of this trip for me too.
Another great picture with different lighting yet again!
I purposely took this from under the umbrella with the top view to remember that it rained there that day and how cold it was, but we were definitely glad we went!
After the glacier we hiked around town and went shopping.

Our ship took over the town it seemed. It was far higher than the highest building, even with Juneau being Alaska's capital city. I think Anchorage should be the capital, it has way more than 33,000 people and is more modern.
Carrie approaches her friend.
The Mt. Roberts Tramway takes tourists to the top of Mt. Roberts for a scenic view of the city and cruise ships.
Another view from the bottom of the tram.
Back at sea and on the way to my favorite port and day of the cruise by far, Skagway...

Man I bet Carrie woulda' liked that down jacket in Juneau that you were gonna' take along that Amy has here at home. Brrrrr. I can almost feel the freeze just looking at these shiverous pictures - and it's still 80 degrees here at 9 p.m.
