Sun. June 8 at Glacier Bay

Cruising inside Glacier Bay, I think this was the Reed Glacier.
Another angle.
Approaching the Margerie Glacier. We got closer to this one than any other. The Pacific Rim Glacier was to the right of the Margerie.
A view from a deck up from where Carrie was on the lower left.
That would be a hard rock climb!
Carrie looking on with the other passengers. I was one deck up when I took this picture.
The northern lights of the Pacific Rim Glacier.
Back to the Margerie Glacier. It was calving as we were there. I was actually inside when the biggest area of ice calved off. But Carrie got some great pics. of it that are on her blog.
It was warmer when we were stopped but still cold.
It almost looks like the passengers are trying to climb onto the side of the glacier!
The smooth water made for great reflections of the mountains.
A beautiful day, as opposed to 5 years ago when we couldn't see the glaciers at all as it was all socked in with rain and fog.
There was much more ice in the water near the John Hopkins Glacier, which we stopped 5 miles away from. You can see the glacier in the middle of the picture.
There was a movie theatre on board the ship and we watched National Treasure II and Jumper.
Beautiful mountains.
The view from the pool on the back end of the Ryndam.
I got to watch this rainbow while working on on Deck 12. I've never had such great scenery rolling past when I worked out before. I finally decided to go get my camera and the rainbow almost disappeared by the time I got back. Earlier I could see the entire rainbow with both ends ending in the water, it was amazing.
Closer now.
We ate one of our 2 formal dinners in the Rotterdam Dining Room Sunday evening. It was dark in the dining hall so it was hard to get a good picture of us. The dining room was very elegant. Carrie thinks it was the fanciest dinner she has ever had.

It is hard to beat those 5 course meals on cruises on "dress up" night! I'm glad you did it. I remember 5 years ago it wasn't easy to convince you to get duded up to go with us. ~ The reflection picture is so cool and the blue sky with glaciers against it is awesome, something I so much HAVE to see someday!
